does he tahiti

and other quotable quotes.

the cruise began on a great note with our surprise upgrade. yay to overbooked c-cabins (that's the class they left for dead on the titanic, by the way) and we got bumped up from the 2nd to the 6th floor. unfortunately, only one cabin was upgraded but the ever-gallant gentlemen (minus F) insisted that we take it. that also meant that the girls' cabin became party central but we were only too happy not to be sleeping below water level that we obliged.

the first night was awesome - went crazy at the duty free shop and stockpiled our stash. made merry till the clubs opened then made merrier on the dance floor. pity the clubs closed early though but then again we needed some zzz before hitting the ground running bright and early on saturday morning when we reached helsinki.

finnish contribution to the world

after a relaxing day in helsinki, it was back to the ship and that's when the fun really started. or not. we sailed right into the middle of a storm and the ship was keeling like crazy the entire night. i don't know how the guys managed to exist as per normal but i was flat on my back and sick as a dog. made the mistake of having dinner (meatballs) which subsequently reappeared through the night. absolutely unpleasant. couldn't even surface for air because the rocking was so bad the deck was closed for fear of people falling overboard and dying. and i couldn't text home because there was no reception at sea and there was obviously no way off the ship. popped some medicine and proceeded to sleep intermittently for 14 hours, until we docked in stockholm..

can't express my utter relief when we got to shore and i saw my beautiful adopted home. i love stockholm. she's gorgeous. the weather's amazing, the buildings beautiful and it's by far one of the prettiest ports i've ever seen.

the stuff in the cafe had to be tied down!

never again, baltic sea. never again.
